Comstock Resources is engaged in the acquisition, development, production and exploration of oil and natural gas. Co.'s oil and gas operations are concentrated in the East Texas/North Louisiana region, which consists of Logansport, Toledo Bend, Beckville, Waskom, Blocker, Mansfield, Hico-Knowles, Darco, Douglass, Longwood, Drew and other fields; and South Texas region, which includes Eagle Ford, Fandango, Double A Wells, Rosita, Javelina, Las Hermanitas, Segno and other fields. As of Dec 31 2011, Co. had total proved reserves of 1.31 trillion cubic feet of gas equivalent, which consisted of 32.1 million barrels of oil and 1.12 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
