Murphy Oil is a holding company. Co. operates two business activities: Exploration and Production, which explores for and produces crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids worldwide; and Refining and Marketing, which primarily consists of the sale of motor fuel and merchandise. The U.K. refining and marketing business consists of operations that refine crude oil and other feedstocks into petroleum products, buy and sell crude oil and refined products, and transport and market petroleum products. As of Dec 31 2012, Co. had 295.7 million barrels of proved oil reserves, 119.1 million barrels of proved synthetic oil reserves and 1.14 trillion cubic feet of natural gas reserves.
