IVV, IDU: Big ETF Outflows
updated Wednesday, September 3, 12:17 PMLooking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV), where 4,350,000 units were destroyed, or a 1.4% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of IVV, in morning trading today Apple (AAPL) is off about 2.8%, and Exxon Mobil (XOM) is up by about 0.7%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the iShares U.S. Utilities ETF (IDU), which lost 3,800,000 of its units, representing a 36.4% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of IDU, in morning trading today Duke Energy (DUK) is up about 0.8%, and Nextera Energy (NEE) is up by about 0.8%.
