Wednesday's ETF with Unusual Volume: FAN
updated Wednesday, October 15, 3:59 PMThe First Trust ISE Global Wind Energy Index Fund ETF (FAN) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 1.8 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 98,000. Shares of FAN were off about 5% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were General Electric (GE), trading down about 1.2% with over 37.6 million shares changing hands so far this session, and BP Plc (BP), off about 2.4% on volume of over 6.6 million shares. Capstone Turbine (CPST) is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 2.7% on the day, while Centrais Electricas Brasileiras (EBR) is lagging other components of the First Trust ISE Global Wind Energy Index Fund ETF, trading lower by about 8.8%.
