SPY, GULF: Big ETF Outflows
updated Monday, January 5, 2:07 PMLooking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), where 10,000,000 units were destroyed, or a 0.9% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of SPY, in morning trading today Apple (AAPL) is off about 1.3%, and Exxon Mobil (XOM) is lower by about 2.3%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the WisdomTree Middle East Dividend Fund (GULF), which lost 600,000 of its units, representing a 23.1% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior.
