SPY, MIDU: Big ETF Outflows
updated Thursday, April 16, 10:53 AMLooking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), where 20,950,000 units were destroyed, or a 2.4% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of SPY, in morning trading today Apple (AAPL) is off about 0.2%, and Exxon Mobil (XOM) is lower by about 0.7%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the Daily Mid Cap Bull 3x Shares ETF (MIDU), which lost 199,967 of its units, representing a 23.5% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior.
