SPLV, ULST: Big ETF Outflows
updated Wednesday, February 28, 10:48 AMLooking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the PowerShares S&P 500 Low Volatility Portfolio (SPLV), where 13,600,000 units were destroyed, or a 8.5% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of SPLV, in morning trading today Xcel Energy (XEL) is off about 0.1%, and Duke Energy Corporation (DUK) is lower by about 0.2%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the SPDR SSGA Ultra Short Term Bond ETF (ULST), which lost 300,000 of its units, representing a 25.0% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior.
